2024 is an exciting year for LCL Awards! We’re celebrating our twentieth anniversary, which gives us the chance to look back at what we’ve achieved over the last two decades as well as the opportunity to reflect on changes that have occurred within the industry since 2004.
Here are of some of the projects we have in-line for the year ahead:
LCL Awards Annual Forum:
On 5th July we'll be celebrating our anniversary at our annual Forum, taking place at the impressive National Space Centre in Leicester.
Our Forum is always a great event. A chance to catch up with what’s happening in the industry, find out about our latest qualifications and initiatives and network with your peers. This year it will be even more special. Approved centres can sign up to the workshop programme, here.
LCL – The Awards:
We're launching our own ‘Awards’ for approved centres, including specific categories focussing on achievements in the fields of gas, electricity and renewables, as well as recognising centres that are going above and beyond when it comes to innovation and inclusivity.
The Award ceremony will take place the night before the Forum (4th July) at the Hilton in Leicester, part of the usual pre-forum social. You can find out more about ‘The Awards’ and how to enter, here.
LCL Awards timeline:
We are building a timeline that will chart the main developments in our industry since we began - and how LCL Awards has responded to them. We’re tracking the growth of renewables, for example, and look at how the delivery of teaching has changed over the years to bring qualifications to a wider range of learners.
Celebrating our centres and staff:
We want this year to be a celebration of the contributions of our staff and approved centres, so we’ll be on the lookout for interesting stories and events – about your centre and the people you train.

Focus on inclusivity:
Our Inclusivity Charter is being reviewed this year to make it more robust and all-encompassing, focussing on improving delivery and access to learning for people from all walks of life. The updated processes for joining the Charter will be launched at this year's forum.
20 years of growth and success
Over the last two-decades, LCL Awards has grown to become one of the UK’s foremost awarding organisation and certification bodies, offering qualifications and training courses through a network of around 160 approved centres nationwide.
As the sector has changed, we have responded, often the first to market with qualifications essential to the modern building services installer. The move towards green energy and a short fall in the engineers required to realise the UK's net zero targets make the work we do all the more important.
There’s never been a more exciting or crucial time for those delivering qualifications and training to the building services sector. Here’s to the next 20 years!
